Townships in Illinois are required by law to maintain all roads outside of federal, state, and other local jurisdictions. Township’s maintain over 71,000 miles of road in Illinois which equals nearly 53 percent of all thoroughfares in the state.
The Fondulac Township Road and Bridge Department was awarded the 2013 Public Works Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association. The award was categorized under transportation projects less than $2,000,000 division. This was awarded to the department after the completion of the new Farm Creek Bridge on Veterans Road.
